Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic team captain who won gold in 2012. She has won six Olympic medals, all in all she was also a part of two gold-medal winning World Championships teams. A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's love for the sport is traced to a "mommy and me" gymnastics class she attended as an eighteen-month-old. Aly is an inspirational leader both on and off the floor and an unwavering champion of body positivity. This was evident recently as she spoke out against Larry Nassar in his sentencing trial. Born in 1994, Aly Raisman started gymnastics as a child and helped the U.S. gymnastics team win the 2011 World Championships. The American gymnast won two gold medals in 2012 during the London Summer Olympics in London, one for the team as well as one for the floor exercise. In the year 2016 Raisman returned to the Olympics in Rio and won silver medals in the single all-around final, as well as the floor exercise and gold in the women's gymnastics team competition. In 2017, Raisman revealed she had experienced sexual abuse at the hands of former team physician Larry Nassar, and the subsequent year, she sued USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
